1777 State of Massachusetts Bay Treasury Loan Certificate, for Richard Devans (Devens) in the amount of eighty-eight pounds to be paid out at six percent interest on March 1, 1782. Committee signatures of Scollay, Price, and Boyer, treasurer signature of H. Gardner, and bearing cancellation 'X' marks. Richard Devans was a commissary general during the Revolutionary War and Chairman of the Cambridge Committee.
