Carved Stone Buddha Head, Thailand, late Ayutthaya style, with bulged eyes, aquiline nose, and lined lips, traces of gilt, with a metal stand, head ht. 13 1/2 in.

Provenance: Purchased in 1980 from Maison Bernard Galleria de Arte, Venezuela; featured in Esculturas antiguas de Asia Suroriental, catalog (Galleria de Arte Moderno Internacional, Caracas: 1976),pl. 18.

in good condition with remnants of paint and gold, now mostly lost.
