Description:

Carved Maple High Chest of Drawers Base, attributed to the Dunlap family of cabinetmakers, New Hampshire, late 18th/early 19th century, the case with long drawer above three short drawers, the central one fan-carved, and scrolled apron joining cabriole legs, original brasses, old surface, (imperfections),ht. 36 1/2, wd. 39 3/4, dp. 21 in.

Provenance: Descended in the George, Hill, and Twombley families of Brentwood, New Hampshire, and later Groveland, Massachusetts.
Estimate $800-1,200

retains its original midmolding, the top of the piece now with a later grey-blue painted board as its top, losses to feet, one brass has lost its posts (but plate and bail are still present),both sides with shrinkage cracks.
