Description:

Mennonite "Steeplechase" Quilt, St. Jacob's, Waterloo Counter, Ontario, c. 1910, red and blue cloth sewn into contrasting blocks assembled to form an alternating cross hatch and flower pattern with a wide blue border, lg. 82, wd. 72 in.

Provenance: Made by Lydia Martin, St. Jacob's, Ontario, acquired from the estate of Leah Martin, one of Lydia's daughters.
