William Hogarth (British, 1697-1764)
Four Prints of an Election: An Election Entertainment, Canvassing for Votes, The Polling, and Chairing the Members. Inscribed in the plates as painted or engraved by "...w. Hogarth" l.l., Entertainment inscribed in the plate "Painted and the Whole Engraved by Wm. Hogarth" l.l., published 1755-58. Engraving and etching on wove paper (presumably posthumous impressions),sight sizes 16 5/8 x 21 1/2 in., framed. Condition: Toning, subtle rippling, scattered fox marks, not examined out of frames.
