Rodolfo Claudus (Austrian/Italian, 1893-1964)

Trade Winds. Signed and dated "Rodolfo Claudus 31" l.l., signed, dated, and titled on the stretcher. Oil on canvas, 27 1/2 x 39 1/2 in., unframed. Condition: Punctures in the lower half of the composition in the water, small abrasion to sky c.l. edge, minor surface grime.

The work is technically unframed, but it does had some half-round molding suggesting a frame, tacked around the perimeter of the front.

The largest of the punctures measures 1 x 1/4 inch. The other puntures are smaller, the largest of these measuring 1/4 inch. The abrasion in the sky measures 1/4 inch, and it is just short of puncturing the canvas.
