Colin Campbell Cooper (American, 1856-1937)
Zurich Lake, Switzerland. Signed faintly "Colin Campbell Cooper" l.r., titled in ink and with the artist's address stamp on the reverse, also inscribed ".../by Cooper/from Cooper Estate/Bought by W.E. Baum 1940" on the reverse. Watercolor and gouache on pressed paperboard, 14 3/4 x 21 3/4 in., unmatted, unframed. Condition: Damage and restoration to the corners, with the u.r. corner now detached but preserved and accompanying the work, tears to c.r. edge, nicks, wear, and small losses to the edges, toning, mat burn to lower edge.
N.B. Presumably the W.E. Baum who purchased this work is the artist Walter Emerson Baum (American, 1884-1956).
