Harlequin Transformation Deck of Cards, designed by Charles E. Carryl for Tiffany & Co., 1879, 51 of 52 cards and one blank, each card inscribed with a caption and accompanying illustrations based on the standard arrangement of pips, the court cards humorously altered, gilt-edged, the backs patterned blue with a medallion centering a knight on horseback.
Note: Charles Edward Carryl was an author of children's literature and a poet as well as a successful businessman and stockbroker.
