Rey, Margret (1906-1996) and Hans Augusto (1898-1977) L is a Lion, Original Signed Chalk Pastel Drawing, March 2, 1971. Large sheet of newsprint from a classroom easel pad, the drawing featuring a lion in the shape of the letter "L" in colored chalk, as seen on the front cover of Curious George Learns the Alphabet; signed and dated in black marker at the foot, torn from the pad, formerly rolled with some offsetting from the chalk, minor toning to sheet, crumpled edges, a few marginal tears, made during a classroom visit, 40 x 29 1/2 in.
