Audubon, John James (1785-1851) Brown Pelican, Plate CCCCXXI. [from] The Birds of America. London: Havell, 1827-1838. Double elephant folio copper-plate engraving with aquatint and etching, on J. Whatman paper dated 1838, yellow colors not present on beak, the bird faded to a reddish brown, brown of the beach similarly faded, trimmed closely, removing plate numbers from the top of the sheet, just touching the last line of text beneath, matted and framed, 36 x 24 3/4 in.
