Association Miniature of Dr. Ebenezer Crosby after Charles Willson Peale (1741-1827) Gouache on ivory miniature attributed to Peale, housed in a photograph case, some paint losses where the bust meets the oval frame, and some slight losses to background, 1 x 1 1/2 in.
Dr. Ebenezer Crosby (1753-1788) was attending physician to Washington's troops at Cambridge in 1776 and spent two weeks in the hospital at Valley Forge before being discharged from the military. He continued the practice of medicine after the war, and settled in New York.
