Qu'ran, Timbuktu, Mali, 17th Century. 226 loose leaves, quarto format, nineteen lines per page in a single column, wrapped in a contemporary leather cover, incomplete, fragmentary at the beginning and end, inscribed on laid paper, in a blackish brown ink with red diacritical marks, the paper ragged and chipped along the edges, very delicate, some water staining, bio-predation, other damage, 8 x 6 in.
