Ilse Breit (Austrian, 20th Century)
Sunflowers From Professor Cizek's Juvenile Art Class. Inscribed "JLSE.BREIT" u.r., titled and numbered "10/100" in pencil on a printed description affixed to the frame backing paper, and with a label from Clossen, Cincinnati, on the frame backing paper. Color lithograph, sight size 8 1/2 x 26 5/8 in., framed. Condition: Not examined out of frame.
N.B. The printed description referenced above makes the connection to Professor Cizek, the Austrian Secession artist Frantz Cizek (1865-1946). The work was produced by a student class sponsored by the Austrian Junior Red Cross in Vienna in the 1920s. The format of the description seems to suggest that it may have been trimmed from the bottom of the poster.
