Frank Weston Benson (American, 1862-1951)

Study of Turnstones, 1928, published edition (Paff, 282). Signed "FrankWBenson." in pencil l.l., numbered and titled "282 ..." in the margin l.l. Etching on laid paper with partial Whatman watermark, plate size 4 7/8 x 5 7/8 in., unmatted, unframed. Condition: Stray ink mark or similar in left margin and ink smudge in u.r. corner, subtle handling creases.

Provenance: Descended within the family of the artist.

Sheet is irregularly trimmed. Height varies from 8 1/4 to 8 1/2 in. Width varies from 10 7/8 to 11 1/4 in.
