Northwest Coast Carved Totem Pole, Haida, c. last quarter 19th century, from top to bottom: head of a bear, four small frog heads, head and two forefeet of a bear, shaman with crown on his head and bear's face on his belly, with a masks at both sides, his feet rest on part of the whale's body depicted symbolically by large eyes with fin above them, ht. 20 1/2 in.
