Japanese Lantern Clock and Wall Bracket, late 18th century, deep bell secured by twin scroll nut over the single foliate, verge movement with iron top and bottom plate, rectangular pillars, wheels, and pinions, brass side panels, rotating brass dial with fixed brass hand, front of pillars signed under the dial, time and strike movement powered by two weights (missing),all on a Zelkova or "Keyaki" wood wall bracket with fabric-backed latticework and glazed dial opening, ht. of clock only 9 1/2 in.

Lacking weights and foliate weights. Wall bracket with one replaced hinge, center panel molding that holds glass panel in is half missing. Engraving on brass panels and bell probably a late 19th Century addition.
