Pair of Victorian Carved Bird Wall Brackets, England, 19th century, each with a demilune shelf surmounting foliage behind a preening bird standing on a naturalistic base, one stamped "R. TUDSBERY[sic]/ARTIST/EDWINSTOW[sic] NOTM" and "367," the other with indistinct marks, "RY/EDWINSTOW NOTM," and "368," ht. 12 1/2, wd. 10 1/4, dp. 6 3/8 in.
Note: Richard Tudsbury was a woodcarver who exhibited at the Great Exhibition in London in 1851. The Tudsbury family of woodcarvers also included Robert, Richard Junior, and William, all working in the business in mid-19th century Edwinstowe.
