Metal Pendant/Brooch, Lowell Nesbitt, c. 1970s, designed as a flower, 2 5/8 x 3 1/4 in., signed, with chain.
Note: Lowell Nesbitt (1936-1993) was a highly celebrated American artist of the Photo Realist movement in the 1960s-70s. He was known for his paintings of gargantuan flowers, of which this pendant/brooch is a related example. Nesbitt was the official artist for space flights Apollo 9 and Apollo 13. His work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsonian, and the Dallas Art Museum.
