Pair of Miniature Portraits of Shah Jahan and Mumtaz Mahal, India, 19th century, opaque color on ivory, oval portraits depicting the Imperial couple holding flowers and dressed in richly ornamented robes, jewelry, and headdresses, framed in a carved giltwood frame and mounted inside a shadow box frame, portrait lg. 4, overall framed 9 1/2 x 12 1/2 in.
Not examined out of frame, few small losses to gilt wood frame, gilt frame detached from outer velvet-lined frame.
