Official Canopy Cover, China, 18th/19th century, two lung dragons in profile facing each other, each chasing a pearl within a quatrefoil celestial landscape of clouds, mountains, and waves, embroidered in the seed stitch with blue, green, red, white, and pale orange silk and silver metal-wrapped threads, on a pale gold-colored silk woven with a cloud pattern, the lining a tan silk with repeat pattern of diamond shapes, wd. 54, lg. 56 in.
