Embroidered Lady's Informal Robe, China, 19th century, pale blue silk with eight roundels at the front, back, and shoulders, all embroidered with pink and blue peony floral arrangements in vases picked out in forbidden stitch over a couched gold ground, the sleeve bands similarly embroidered with fruits and auspicious symbols, four-lobed cloud collar with figural and floral vignettes and matching trim, lg. 46 in.
