Salvador Dalí (Spanish, 1904-1989)

Petite chouette (Little Owl), 1968, edition of 200, from the second edition (with blue ground) of two (Michler & Löpsinger, 246e; Field, 68-9-2). Signed "Dalí" in pencil l.r., numbered "97/200" in pencil l.l. Color etching on paper, plate size 6 13/16 x 4 7/8 in. (17.2 x 12.3 cm),framed.
Condition: Gentle rippling, not examined out of frame.

Provenance: Collection of Robert Bradford Newman (1917-1983),professor of architectural acoustics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology School of Architecture and the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and co-founder of Bolt, Beranek and Newman Inc., Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Sheet measures 14 x 12 1/4 in. (35.6 x 31.2 cm) and is taped to the overmat with masking tape along top edge and halfway down the side edges. Subtle mat burn. No additional issues to report.
