Condition: Lined, retouch, possible overcleaning, craquelure, drying cracks.
Provenance: David Playdell-Bouviere, grandson of the 5th Earl of Radnor, family seat at Longford Castle, Wiltshire, England. Playdell-Bouviere was married to Ava Alice Muriel Astor, the only daughter of John Jacob Astor, in 1946.

The varnish layer of the work appears to have pale white swirl-like marks on its surface that seem to suggest remnants from a cleaning with a cloth.
