Peter Fink (American, 1907-1984)
Refractions, Philadelphia, 1960s. Stamped "PHOTOGRAPH BY PETER FINK" in red ink on the verso, titled on a fragment from an old housing affixed to the backing. Gelatin silver print, image/sheet size 19 1/2 x 10 5/8 in. (49.5 x 27.0 cm), matted, unframed.
Condition: Good.
N.B. Peter Fink was a successful package designer and decorator for couturier Lucien Lelong when he was first introduced to photography. After WWII, he was rarely without a camera, photographing street life, landscapes, and architecture on his frequent travels abroad. His Refractions series was shown for the first time in a 1969 retrospective at the Gallery of Modern Art in New York.
