Various Photographers, including Arthur Fellig, called Weegee (Austrian/American, 1899-1968)

Ten Press Pictures of Louis Armstrong, 1940s-50s. The Weegee print stamped "PLEASE CREDIT/WEEGEE/FROM/PHOTO-REPRESENTATIVES" in black ink on the verso, the others with credit stamps or labels for European Picture Service, New York, on the versos, the majority with typed captions and descriptions affixed to the versos. Gelatin silver prints, image sizes to 9 3/8 x 7 7/8 in. (23.9 x 20.0 cm),unmatted, except for the Weegee, all unframed.
Condition: Scattered handling crimps, wear to corners.

Provenance: Property from the collection of Harvey Shipley Miller, proceeds to benefit the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
