George Platt Lynes (American, 1907-1955)
Two Nude Studies: Ted Starkowski and Nicholas Magallanes (as Orpheus) and Francisco Moncion (as Dark Angel) in George Balanchine's Orpheus, c. 1951 and 1948, respectively. Both stamped "GEORGE PLATT LYNES/229 EAST 47 STREET NEW YORK" on the reverse in black ink at center. Gelatin silver prints, image/sheet sizes to 7 x 8 7/8 in. (17.8 x 22.5 cm),matted, unframed.
Condition: Starkowski with minor creases at lower corners.
Provenance: Property from the collection of Harvey Shipley Miller, proceeds to benefit the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Both prints hinged with linen tape at upper corners. The Orpheus image is on lightly textured paper. No additional issues to report.
