Small Walnut, Cherry, and Burl Veneer Fall-front Desk, Boston, early 18th century, with lid inlaid with an eight-pointed compass star on a burl panel bordered by herringbone and crossbanded inlay, the interior with valanced compartments, concave drawer, two document drawers, and other drawers flanking projecting compartments, above a well with sliding top, the double arch-molded case of two short drawers and two long drawers on bracket feet, old replaced brasses, refinished, (alterations and imperfections), ht. 38 1/2, wd. 33 1/4, dp. 18 in.
