Bob Kuhn (American, 1920-2007)
Five Framed Drawings, including three Christmas card designs (Lion and Lamb, Bringing Home the Tree, and Dove of Peace) and two drawings of animals (Monkey and Reindeer with Laplanders). Dove signed "K" l.l., Monkey and Reindeer signed "kuhn" l.l. or l.r., respectively, others unsigned. Ink and whiting on paper or illustration board, sight sizes to 11 3/4 x 15 1/2 in. Condition: Toning, not examined out of frames.
N.B. Bob Kuhn was a noted wildlife artist. From 1940 to 1970 his illustrations were featured in many of the best wildlife magazines such as Field and Stream, True and Outdoor Life and in the Remington Arms Company Game Art Calendar. In 1970, the artist gave up commercial work and turned to easel painting, travelling around the world to study animals on location for his award-winning oil and acrylics.
The lot is accompanied by a print of the artist's, drawing of an elephant.
