Hour-repeating, Center Seconds, Chinese Carriage Clock, retailed by L. Vrard, Shanghai, c. 1890, the engraved brass and beveled glass case with porcelain roman numeral dial marked L. Vrard & Co./Shang-Hai, eight-day time, strike and hour-repeating movement with center seconds, alarm, rear-mounted rack and snail strike mechanism and gong all powered by two coiled springs and regulated by a platform escapement, ht. 6 1/2 in. with handle lowered.
movement wants cleaning, strike needs adjustment, starts quickly when wound.
