Description:
Japanese Single Foliot Kake Dokei or Lantern Clock, 19th century, a twin scroll nut holds the deep bell over the single foliot, iron top and bottom plates with rectangular iron pillars, brass front, back, and doors with floral design, engraved "hand" mounted top center over the rotating dial with roman numerals, weight-driven time and strike movement with iron wheels and verge escapement, ht. 9 1/2 in.

Lacking weights. Western dial appears to have been painted over an earlier Japanese dial.
