Oversize Brass and Steel Lantern Clock, probably Italy, c. 1700, brass roman numeral dial with floral engraved spandrels, posted-frame movement with individual rope drive, time train mounted in front as a three-wheel, crown wheel, and verge escapement with a 10-in. pear-shaped bob pendulum, behind is a three-wheel strike train with rear-mounted six-hour count wheel and two hammers hitting the large bell on each side repeating each hour shortly after the last has struck, capping the clock are four turned finials, the large bell and center finial all resting on four flattened bun feet, ht. 19 1/2 in.
