Model 1842 U.S. Percussion Musket and Bayonet, c. 1855, walnut stock with steel fittings, tail of the lock marked "SPRING/FIELD/1855" and eagle over "US" in front of the hammer, barrel marked "1855" (mark not original),and an iron ramrod (replacement),steel bayonet marked "U.S." on the blade, barrel lg. 42, overall lg. 58 in.

Stock has some dings and nicks, breech has been cleaned and buffed, and the date added, ramrod is a replacement, and the lock functions properly.
