John Dickson & Son 16 Gauge Boxlock Double-barrel Shotgun with Maker's Case, c. 1897, serial number 4947, walnut stock with finely checkered forend and grip, the boxlock with fine foliate and scroll engraving with "JOHN DICKSON & SONS PATENT" on ribbon, blued barrels with plain rim engraved "JOHN DICKSON & SONS 57 PRINCES STREET EDINBURGH," with later mismatched leather maker's case and accessories, overall lg. 46 1/4 in.
