Springfield Armory Model 1922 Bolt-action Rifle, c. 1922, serial number 1366, walnut stock with checkered wrist and forend, marked on the receiver ring "U.S./SPRINGFIELD/ARMORY/MODEL OF 1922," barrel marked "8-22," overall lg. 44 1/4 in.
Provenance: This rifle is one of the first 2,000 .22 caliber 1903 Springfield bolt-action rifles appropriated by congress for experiemental training by members of the U.S. Army Rifle Team.
