Pair of Italian Baroque-style Walnut Armchairs, late 19th century, each heavily carved in the manner of Andrea Brustalon, with a reclining putto carved to the upper armrests, blackamoor-type uprights, and acanthus-carved handholds, X-form stretcher, all supported by curvate front legs ending in four grotesque feet, ht. 47 1/2, wd. 36, dp. 30 in.
Each with overall surface wear including nicks, scuffs to be expected with age and use. Stretcher finial on one chair missing and is also missing base to front right foot so chair does not sit evenly on floor. Later fabric has tears to it.
