Pair of George Jones Pate-sur-Pate Vases, England, c. 1880, decorated by Frederick Schenk, each dark green ground and with white slip classical subjects to either side, a maiden seated to the shoulder of each, impressed marks and artist signatures, ht. 14 in.

Each missing cover, scattered gilt wear and drilled for lamps. One vase with heavy crazing to pate-sur-pate: large chips surrounding lower rim of candle nozzle; to hand and foot of one figure; to foot of the other and with one hand missing all fingers; one scrolled leg broken off and repaired. The other vase with repairs (need redoing to necks of both heads, and to extending hand and foot of each.
