Victorian Brass-inlaid and Coromandel Toiletry Box, Sheffield, c. 1865, Joseph Rogers & Sons, maker, silver bearing marks for London, 1863-64, William Neal, maker, the necessaire de voyage opens to a mirror mounted to the interior of the lid with a secret compartment behind, eleven silver-mounted colorless cut-glass containers each engraved with foliate arabesques centering a small monogrammed cartouche, with two secret leather-lined compartments, 8 1/4 x 13 1/4 x 10 in.

Case with professional restoration to veneer lifting (now only some small cracks remain, especially to top surface, one very small area of lifted veneer to side),other. Lacking pull tab to lower secret jewelry compartment. Lacking sewing elements to upper case. One rectangular glass container (with silver spring lid) with crack long edge, other with crack to neck, otherwise glass in good condition with a couple of "fleabite" nicks.
