Ansel Adams (American, 1902-1984)
Forest, Early Morning, Mount Rainier Park, Washington, 1949, printed 1950, from Portfolio II: The National Parks and Monuments, published by Grabhorn Press, San Francisco. Signed "Ansel Adams" in pencil l.r., numbered "2" of "45" in red ink within stamp identifying the portfolio and copyright credit on the reverse of the mount center. Gelatin silver print mounted to board, image/sheet size 9 1/2 x 7 1/8 in. (24.1 x 18.1 cm), unmatted, unframed.
Provenance: A private Massachusetts collection.
Mount measures 17 7/8 x 13 7/8 in. (45.5 x 35.3 cm). Minor discoloration at edges of mount. Adhesive residue or similar at u.l. and u.r. corners. There are no condition issues regarding the emulsion layer of the print or the sheet. No further issues to report.
