Frank Gohlke (American, b. 1942)

The Sudbury River, Ashland, Massachusetts, 1989, printed 1990, edition of 30 produced for the PRC Print Program. Titled, numbered, signed, and dated "...23/30 Frank Gohlke..." in silver ink below the image along the bottom. Chromogenic print, image size 15 7/8 x 21 3/4 in. (40.3 x 55.3 cm),matted, framed.
Condition: Not examined out of frame.

Provenance: Sold to benefit the Photographic Resource Center at Boston University.

N.B. Disoriented by his move to eastern Massachusetts from the Midwest in 1987, Frank Gohlke began photographing the Sudbury River near his home. His images capture not only the beauty of the place, but also its fragility in the face of humanity's exploitation of the landscape.
