Miniature Manuscript Painting, Persia, 19th/20th century, opaque color and gold on paper, possibly depicting the story of the abduction of Zal by the simurgh, from the Shahnameh by Firdawsi, with two lines of Nastaliq calligraphy above and below the image and twenty-three lines of text on the reverse, framed and glazed to show both sides, sight size 11 x 7 1/4 in.
