Black Ware Bottle Vase, China, Song dynasty, of dramatic volume with wide, slightly curving shoulders rising from a slightly tappered body, the short tappered mouth with a thick, everted rim, the overall thick, black glaze with areas of russet at the rim and the base, the unglazed foot with a thin glaze wash in the interior, ht. 9 3/4 in.
