Black-painted Lidded Wall Box, America, c. 1760, thumb-molded case, lid, and single drawer with shaped back and hanger, old black paint over original green paint, the inside painted red, the back with painted inscription "DM TO/march/ye 17 1760," indistinct chalk inscription on back of drawer, ht. 18 1/4, wd. 11 1/2, dp. 7 in.

Interior painted red, exterior painted dark green/gray but probably light green originally, old losses to molding on top of drawer. Lower molded edge of lid broken and repaired, original snipe hinges. Minor spatters of white paint on lid.
