Needlework Sampler "Sally Woodbery," probably Massachusetts, late 18th century, worked in silk threads on a linen ground, the central rectangular reserve with two alphabets and the maker's name, age, and year of completion, with border of meandering flowering vine, the upper center with a figure on horseback and a shepherd and five sheep flanking a tree, the lower center with a man and woman in profile also flanking a tree, (toned, maker's information indistinct),16 3/4 x 16 in., in a molded wood frame.

overall rather brown, inscription appears to identify Sally Woodbery as aged 9 years in 1795.
