River Scene with Figures and Church. Monogrammed "JS" or "TS" l.r., signed or inscribed "J. Sergeant pinx./1807" on the reverse. Watercolor on laid paper, 6 5/8 x 8 1/4 in., framed. Condition: Minor toning and foxing particularly to u.l. corner, some pigment discoloration to u.l. edge, hinged to back mat in two places on the top of the reverse.

Bears a typed label on the frame backing paper attributing the work to Antoine Louis Francoise Sergent (1751-1817),however the signature does not appear to conform to this artist.
