Description:

Large Wedgwood Black Basalt Vase and Cover, England, mid-19th century, disc-like cover with foliate and palmette motifs and vasiform finial, the ovoid vase with upturned loop handles and classical Muses in relief above a wide acanthus band, impressed mark, ht. 22 in.

Provenance: From the Estate of Paul Lauer.
Estimate $1,500-2,500

Cover: Finial off with screw repair at join.
Vase: A replacement rod secures the vase to the socle and plinth. 3/8" chip to a corner of the plinth.
