Description:

George IV Sterling Silver-gilt Claret Bottle Collar, London, 1829-30, John Bridge, maker, the central register raised on stylized strawberry leaves, engraved monogram "BC" topped with a crown to inner rim, dia. 3 3/4; together with a French .950 silver wine tastevin, maker's mark "EG" probably for Eugène Gille, with monogrammed thumbpiece, lg. 4 3/4 in., approx. 5.8 total troy oz.

N.B. The monogram appears to be that of Baroness Angela Burdett-Coutts (1814-1906).
Estimate $500-700

Claret collar in good overall condition with only very minor rubbed loss to gilding and leaftips not perfectly aligned (some bent very slightly). Wine taster in good condition with only light surface wear abrasions.
