George IV Sterling Silver Dish, London, 1827-28, maker's mark "WE" probably for William Edwards, oval, with gadrooned rim offset by foliate-capped shells and engraved armorial to rim, lg. 15 in., approx. 40.3 troy oz.
Provenance: The Estate of Hugh Trumbull Adams, to benefit the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation Collections Acquisitions Fund.

Minor rubbed loss to detail along rim (particularly shell and scroll motifs),with abrasions to surface. Otherwise in good overall condition. Lacquered surface.
