Description:

Creamware Platt Menage, England, c. 1780-90, probably Yorkshire, modeled as five conjoined shell dishes centered with a figure of a seated woman wearing a flowing robe, all set on a raised circular base with pierced diamond band, ht. 6 7/8 in.

Provenance: From the Troy Chappell Collection.
Literature: Similar illustrated in Creamware and other English Pottery at Temple Newsam House, Leeds, by Walton, illus. 472.
