George II Sterling Silver Argyle, London, 1727-28, Matthew Lofthouse, maker, cylindrical body with a slender spout and removable lid, silver joint to side handle with hinged lid for warming chamber, ht. 4 5/8 in., approx. 13.9 troy oz.

In good overall condition throughout, with light surface wear nicks and abrasions. Finial with minor nicked loss, both finial and handle over-painted (probably later). Lid bearing lion passant mark.
