Description:

Tin-glazed Earthenware Fisherman Plate, England, c. 1755-70, probably Bristol, rim-to-rim decoration in polychrome enamels depicting a coastal landscape with houses and trees in the background, a central fisherman, and two skiffs to the foreground, dia. 10 1/8 in.

Provenance: From the Troy Chappell Collection.
Estimate $500-700

Glaze loss and minor chipping surrounding the rim; faint 1 1/2" glaze hairline to rim.
